Posture app for remote workers

The ergonomist your home office never had.

Offices come with adjustable desks and someone paid to worry about your chair. At home you get the kitchen table. SitApp fills the gap: on-device AI that watches your posture through your webcam, learns your setups, and nudges you before the sofa-slump becomes a physio bill.

The problem

Home offices weren't designed. They happened.

When work went remote, the furniture didn't follow - and the research on homeworkers shows the result:

A remote worker craning down at a laptop sitting flat on a home table
~61%

of homeworkers report musculoskeletal discomfort, with neck, shoulders and lower back leading

24 lb

of force on the neck at just a 20-degree forward head tilt - the default laptop-on-table angle

How SitApp helps

Built for the way remote workers actually work.

A profile for every corner of the house

Calibrate the proper desk and the kitchen table separately - even sofa-with-laptop Friday can have its own profile (Pro keeps up to 5 saved). SitApp measures you against your own good posture for that spot, not a stock office pose.

Real detection, not another timer

You already ignore calendar nudges and stand-up reminders. SitApp only speaks when your posture has drifted, which is why it still works in month three.

Not employee monitoring. Ever.

SitApp is your personal tool: all processing is on-device, no images ever leave your machine, and there's no dashboard for anyone else. Your camera answers to you.

Breaks and nudges on your terms

Built-in break reminders plus posture alerts in your choice of sound, voice, or visual cue - tuned so a nudge doesn't derail the video call you're inevitably on.

Platforms

Whatever the company shipped you - or you already had.

macOS

Direct download (notarized) or the Mac App Store. The built-in webcam you use for stand-ups is all it needs.

Windows

Code-signed installer for Windows 10+, at home next to Teams, Slack, and the VPN client.

Linux

Native .deb and AppImage - a posture app that treats a Linux daily driver as a first-class citizen.

FAQ

Questions remote workers ask us.

Is this some kind of employee monitoring tool?

No, and it can't be quietly turned into one. SitApp is a personal app: detection runs entirely on your device, no images or video are ever uploaded, and there's no employer dashboard or admin view of your camera. (Our separate Teams pilot shares only anonymised, aggregate posture stats - never camera data.)

Does it work on a video call?

On macOS and Linux, SitApp can usually run alongside your meeting app, with alerts set to quiet cues so a nudge doesn't interrupt your point. Windows is the exception: the OS generally gives the camera to one app at a time, so there you'd pause monitoring for the call and pick it up after.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Detection is fully on-device and works offline - on hotel wifi, through the corporate VPN, or with the router unplugged.

I move around the house during the day. Can it keep up?

Yes - that's what per-location calibration is for. Save a profile for each spot you work from and SitApp evaluates your posture against the baseline for that setup, not a single one-size-fits-all pose.

Commute's gone.
Keep the good chair habits.
