What's new in SitApp
A history of features, improvements, and fixes shipped to the posture Droid.
v9.0.0 - June 13, 2026
New
- On MacBooks with a camera notch, a small Droid now grows out of the notch while monitoring - its eye glows green when you are sitting well and red when you start to slouch, and a click brings the app forward.
- SitApp is now available on the Mac App Store, with in-app upgrades and a new "Continue without an account" option for using the app without signing up.
Improved
- Posture detection is now much better at ignoring false alarms - head turns, quick glances, and lighting changes no longer set off slouch alerts, while genuine slouches still come through.
- Good posture now always registers as good, even at the highest sensitivity, so alerts clear reliably once you straighten up.
- The upgrade screen now features real reviews from other users and a friendly price comparison.
- The default posture alert sound is now a softer wooden tap.
Fixed
- The dashboard no longer shifts or resizes when you start or stop monitoring.
v8.6.0 - June 5, 2026
New
- Posture sensitivity is now a true 1-10 slider, so you can fine-tune exactly how often the Droid speaks up - from barely-ever to the slightest lean.
Improved
- Better camera compatibility on Windows: if another app is using your webcam, SitApp pauses monitoring, lets you know, and picks back up automatically once the camera is free. (On Mac the camera can already be shared between apps, so this isn't needed.)
Fixed
- A location's "Last used" date now updates the moment you start monitoring there, not only when you switch desks or recalibrate.
v8.5.0 - June 2, 2026
Improved
- Posture detection now runs on a single streamlined model - a smaller download and lighter on your machine - and older setups are guided through a quick one-time recalibration so accuracy stays sharp.
- Posture alerts now ease off when you repeatedly dismiss false positives, and unnecessary recalibration prompts appear less often.
- The login screen now matches the rest of the app's background in both light and dark mode, with a more native, desktop-like feel.
- The welcome screen shows its button sooner the first time you start the app.
Fixed
- Posture monitoring now recovers on its own if detection ever stalls, so your sessions and streaks keep going uninterrupted.
- Automatic updates are now more reliable on Windows.
v8.4.0 - May 20, 2026
New
- After a few false alarms in a short time, the Droid now offers to recalibrate itself to improve accuracy.
Improved
- SitApp now uses noticeably less CPU and GPU while idle, so it stays light on your battery.
- The dashboard runs smoother and lighter on your graphics.
- Animations now ease off when a window is hidden or in the background, freeing up resources.
Fixed
- Your "Currently trained" pose count now updates right away when you add good or bad poses during monitoring.
- The camera now reliably stops when a session ends, so nothing keeps running in the background.
v8.3.1 - May 20, 2026
New
- You can now place the Droid along the middle of any screen edge - top, left, or right - for more flexible positioning, with a new visual picker to choose its spot.
Improved
- The Droid now asks you to recalibrate less often, ignoring brief movements like leaning back or turning to talk while still responding to real changes in your setup.
- Slouch alerts animate more smoothly, especially the first one in a session, so the Droid's entrance looks crisp from the start.
v8.2.12 - May 13, 2026
